Luxwood recognises the Traditional Ownership of the land by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Luxwood aims to encourage and support Indigenous economic and skills development through:

Specific actions undertaken to deliver on this policy include:

Ensure that all staff have an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through cultural awareness training for staff

In staff inductions, profile the company’s commitment to supporting Indigenous business, encouraging Indigenous employment, and cultural awareness

Where possible, Luxwood will support workforce development of Indigenous people in the areas in which it operates

Luxwood has an ongoing commitment to engaging effectively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and businesses

Requesting suppliers to Luxwood to identify opportunities for engagement of Indigenous businesses and employment of Indigenous staff. This includes supporting the development of business capabilities in Indigenous businesses

Luxwood will work with local Indigenous businesses to build their capabilities through information sharing and mentoring – helping firms to strengthen their skills and meet high performance standards.
All staff and subcontractors have individual responsibility for understanding and applying this Indigenous Participation Plan in the performance of their tasks. Company management is fully committed to this Indigenous Participation Plan through an active focus on supporting Indigenous businesses and employment and leadership by example.
